Sales Development Representative

The Opportunity

We closed our latest round of funding from Boeing Horizon X and top-tier VCs, and now need to scale our Sales team to keep up with demand. We’re looking for the next class of highly motivated Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) to help us continue to move up market and become the default in a competitive market.

As an SDR, you are the first point of contact for new potential customers. You’ll help educate potential customers while removing roadblocks for them to bring drones into their organization, while creating a steady pipeline of business to arm the Sales team.

There’s no script, no one-size-fits-all solution. There are no territories. You’re fully empowered to solve problems, create solutions, and help potential customers create high-ROI drone programs.

The Team

Kittyhawk’s Business team is a tight-knit team with diverse backgrounds–we’re seasoned sales-people, growth hackers, and even some former aviators. We’re charged with kicking off conversations with qualified leads and working with companies of all kinds, from solo drone photographers to firefighters, law enforcement folks and power companies, to help them successfully use drones to improve their businesses.

You’ll be working closely with key stakeholders in Fortune 500 companies, including exciting critical infrastructure industries like Oil & Gas, Engineering, Rail and Utilities to help them launch and scale their commercial drone operations. We’re looking for people that are interested in building not just a company, but an industry.

Your Impact

To be successful in this role, you will be seeking out future customers while managing inbound pipeline as the first point of contact in developing new relationships. You’ll be working closely with colleagues from sales, product, and engineering teams on customer feedback, feature requests and priorities. The goal here is to help evolve a market-leading product into the industry-defining solution.

What a Typical Day Looks Like

  • Check Intercom (our inbound CRM) system to identify and proactively engage new signups
  • Qualify inbound leads to determine if they are suitable for our Individual or Small-medium business solutions or if they are more suited for our Enterprise solutions
  • Have daily syncs with the Enterprise Account Manager to refer qualified Enterprise opportunities to them
  • Build and nurture close working relationships with paying customers to better understand their needs and bring in Customer Success as needed to help
  • Identify and articulate the value proposition to prospects and clients
  • Deliver in-depth product demonstrations via Web
  • Closely collaborate and deliver customer feedback to our Customer Success and Product teams
  • Maintain account and opportunity detail in CRM tools

The Skill Set

  • 1-2 years experience in a phone sales role as part of a SaaS or B2B company OR a driven and eager to learn new grad who thrives in fast paced, constantly-changing environments
  • Experience with mid-high volume cold calling
  • The ability to proactively engage new clients
  • A consultative and human sales approach — every conversation is different, and there are no scripts at Kittyhawk
  • The skills to passionately and clearly articulate value/benefit of the Kittyhawk Drone Ops platform
  • A knack for asking great questions to uncover a prospect’s business issues
  • A firm understanding of how to qualify buyer interest and identify target customers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A team-player attitude with a strong desire to help improve internal processes beyond your day-to-day tasks
  • A desire to learn, grow, and get in on the ground floor of a top startup while launching your career
